CORRESPONDENCE He married in 1770 Catharine, daughter of Thomas Gordon the younger of Earlston, who brought him the estate of Afton, co. Ayr. From 1786 till his death he was M.P. for the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright. Three volumes. Presented, along with Add. Ch. 63798-64009, by Major J. R. Hannay.
