2. "Followis the compt of James Loche Thesaurer to the guid Toun of Edinburgh for his Majesties receptioun, 1633," on the occasion of Charles I's visit to Edinburgh for his coronation, June-July 1633. Allowed and signed by Johne Sinclair, Dean of Guild, and twelve other auditors, 12 Mar. 1635. ff. 3-20.
3. Correspondence of James Loch, partly from Paris, with his father, George Loch of Drylaw, and other relatives and friends; 11 Sept. 1730-23 Dec. 1750. ff. 28-46.
4. Correspondence of George Loch, last owner of Drylaw, 7 Dec. 1772- 12 Feb. 1788. In 1779 he married Mary, daughter of John Adam, the eldest of the four architect brothers, and in 1786 he sold the estate of Drylaw. His letters previous to his marriage are written from abroad, from Italy and France, and chiefly to his brother-in-law and agent in Edinburgh, James Loch, Writer to the Signet. After marriage his correspondence is for the most part with his father-inlaw and other members of the Adam family. The following correspondents may also be mentioned: Oliph Leigh Spencer, B.D.
