SURVEY of forfeited estates in cos. Louth (ff. 1-8) and Meath (ff. 9-170 b), made in 1700 for the Trustees of Forfeited Estates appointed under the Act of William III "for granting an Aid to His Majesty by Sale of the Estates and Interests forfeited in Ireland by the Rebellion of 1688." The estates were sold and conveyed by the Trustees in 1702 and 1703 (cf. the accompts of the sale of forfeitures in co. Dublin in Add. MS. 15973). In their report dated 27 Nov. 1703 (a copy in Add. MS. 17774) the Trustees state that they have delivered up all records, etc., relating to the forfeited estates except such as were necessary to perfect their accompts and the Books of 'Survey which "not being compleat at our leaving Ireland we thought it for the public service to continue in the hands of the Surveyor for that purpose" (f. 3).
