LETTERS to Sir William Hamilton, K.B., chiefly while Envoy at Naples, from Secretaries of State, British diplomatists serving abroad, and private individuals, with some holograph drafts of Hamilton's despatches and letters; 1761-1803. The Secretaries of State include [George Montagu-Dunk, 2nd Earl of] Halifax; [Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of] Richmond; [Thomas Thynne, 3rd Viscount] Weymouth [1st Marquess of Bath 1789]; [William Henry Zuylestein, 4th Earl of] Rochford; [Wills Hill, 1st Earl of] Hillsborough [Marquess of Downshire 1789]; [Francis Osborne, 5th Duke of] Leeds [William Wyndham Grenville, Baron] Grenville. Among miscellaneous papers included in the volume are an autograph catalogue of Sir William Hamilton's pictures, 1798 (vol. IV, f. 121), and some undated notes on eruptions of Vesuvius (vol. IV, f. 229), partly in his hand. The names of the writers will be found in the Index.
