ORIGINAL LETTERS from Browne Willis, LL.D., to Dr. Andrew Coltee Ducarel, LL.D., from 4 Dec. 1745 to 9 Jan. 1760, inclosing several Lists of Chancellors and Vicars General of various dioceses. Among these Letters are inserted two from Katherine Willis (his daughter) to Dr. Ducarel, 16 Apr. [1757], 8 Mar. [1758], ff. 102, 121 ; and a fragment of a Letter from William Cowper, M.D., of Chester, f. 88. At
the end are added four Letters from the Rev. John Gibberd (curate of Whaddon) to Dr. Ducarel, with an account of Browne Willis's death, will, etc., 5 Feb.-9 Apr. 1760, ff. 177-182 ; and Letters to the same from Francis Wise, 18 Alar. 1760, f. 186 ; the Rev. William Cole, of Bletchly, 24 Mar., 12 Apr. 1760, ff. 187, 188 ; and John Willis (brother of Browne Willis), 1 May, 1760, f. 189 ;-Three Letters from Browne Willis to Rev. Dr. [Zachary] Grey, of Cambridge, 26, 30 Sept. 1727, 9 Sept. 1734, ff. 191-193 ;-Letter from the same to Mr. Richards, 20 Dec. 1753, f. 195 ;-From the same to Rev. Dr. [Samuel] Pegge, 2 Feb. 1758, f. 196;-Engravings of the arms on the under side of the roof of the Chapel at Fenny Stratford, and of the north-east prospect of the Chapel, ff. 198, 199. At the close of the volume is an Index of subjects, in the handwriting of Dr. Ducarel, f. 200 ; and prefixed are two engraved portraits of Browne Willis, and printed memoirs of him, by Dr. Ducarel and John Nichols, ff 2-8.
