A moral and religious treatise on self-governance, with collections from the Fathers and Philosophers, beginning, " Wer geren list und lere. lieb hatt ;" preceded by a colored drawing of a philosopher in his study, f. 1. [The leaves are misplaced, and should be in the following order, ff. 2, 18-23 b., 3-17 b, 24-119 b];-Sayings of the eighteen masters on the benefits of affliction, etc. At the end is the following note, " Geendet auff Sampstag vor den Suntag Jubilate vor Sant Jorgen tage, anno Domini lxviiij. C. S.," f. 120; -" Ain schöne güte lere des Gottlichen lebens ;" Proverbial sentences, in prose and verse, from the Fathers, Philosophers, Minnesingero, Prophets,etc., fr. 129-152, 156-172 b. --" Ain nütze ler wie du dich halten solt mit deinen reden und schweigen gen Got und dem Menschen," f. 152 b. ;-
" Von der fürsten leben," etc. ; beginning, " Salomon der weyssost," f. 173 b. ; -Religious and moral Sentences, intermixed with short poems, proverbial sayings, and moral reflexions, f. 175 ;-" Dise Regel und lere wic man haus halten sol, hatt geschreiben Sant Bernhartt und mat die dem Ritter Reymundo, seiner Schwestersüne, gen Maylandt," etc. ; a translation of the Epistle of Bernard Silvestre of Chartres, " de cura rei familiaris;" with additional extracts and short poems on the same subject, dated 1468, f. 232;-
The Bescheidenheit of Freidank, with the date 1468, f. 256;-" Ain gutt spruch
der weltt lauff, gar aubenturlicher," f. 292 ;-"Ain lere wie Katho sein sun hiess leben," f. 296 b. ;-Three rudely-colored drawings occur in different parts of the volume, and the armorial book-plate of Christopher, Baron von Wolekhenstain is pasted within the cover. Small Quarto. [16,581.]
