LA LEGENDE des Sains, translatée de Latin en François;" a French translation, by Jehan de Vignay, of the Legenda Aurea of Jacobus de Voragine, Archbishop of Genoa. Prefixed is a prologue by the translator, followed by the prologue of the original author, and a table of the Saints. At the end of the work is the following note, " Cy fenist la Vie des Sains, qui est dicte Legende Dorée, qui fu faicte l'an de notre Sire, M.CCC.LXXV." On an unnumbered folio
facing f. 302v is an autograph inscription giving the text of the first lines at the top of f. 302v which have faded. On vellum; ornamented with a large miniature of the coronation of the Virgin on the first leaf, and with smaller paintings of the Saints introduced into many of the initial letters. Large Quarto.
