PETRI Comestoris Historia Scholastica. Instead of the usual dedication to Guillaume, Archbishop of Sens, the preface is preceded by a chapter of rules for determining the age of the world, etc., beginning, "Quam plurimi uiri," composed [see line 10] in 1139. This copy does not treat of the Acts of the Apostles; but after the words, "uel per se uel per alium credere," which conclude the Gospels in many copies, occur (f. 228), "Signa . . eorum qui crediderint," and a chapter, "De ascensione," followed by a clause on the celebration of the Ascension. On f. 228 b is a table of the Kings of Israel and Judah. Ff. 1-4 are inserted leaves, and contain tables of the, Patriarchs, from Adam, the Kings of Israel and Judah, etc. Vellum; with coloured initials; XIIth cent., except the inserted leaves, which are of the XIIIth cent. On the inside of the cover is printed, "Bibliotheca Conoviana Dublinii, MCDCCCXXXIV." Quarto.
