COLLECTION of political pieces, mostly in verse; 1674-1718; said to have been selected (and some of them composed) by John Greene, of King's Lynn, in Norfolk. They begin with a ballad written in 1674, entitled "The Countrymans Discourse vpon Lynn Election," which is followed by heroic verses "Vpon the same," verses against Dr. Sacheverel, other verses "Vpon Lynn Election;" dat. 1711, 1712, etc. The pieces in prose consist of correspondence between the Mayor and Corporation of Lynn and the Duke of Norfolk in 1688, Corporation addresses to Queen Anne and George I. in 1713 and 1715, etc. A John Greene was Mayor of Lynn in 1709.
