'LILITH' BY GEORGE MACDONALD; 1890-1895. Eight volumes, comprising (1) the autograph manuscript of the earlier and briefer version (46187 A), dated (f. 1)' March 28,1890' (2) typewritten drafts , with numerous autograph corrections and additions, of the second and extended version (46187 B-E), each successive volume being freshly typed and incorporating the alterations of its predecessor; (3) proofs, with autograph corrections, of the second version consisting of first proof (46187 F), first revise (46187 G) and second revise (46187 H). The second version was published by Chatto & Windus, 1895. The earlier version was paraphrased by Greville MacDonald in his centenary edition of Lilith, 1924, pp. 355-396.
