ROLLO PAPERS
Miscellaneous Official and Private Papers of the Rollo family, Lords Rollo of Duncrub; 1649-1867. The papers consist chiefly of correspondence, etc., of and relating to Brig.-Gen. Andrew Rollo, 5th Lord Rollo 1758, including his correspondence with William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, and others, relating to the capture of Dominica and Martinique, 1761-1762; see Hist. MSS. Comm., 3rd Report, 1872, App., p. 407, where an extract from Pitt's secret instruction to Rollo (ff. 57-59) to attack Martinique (5 Aug. 1761) is printed, and other related correspondence is listed. Other Rollo papers mentioned in the Report are not, however, in the present collection.
