Title:

ARGENTI CHIOS PAPERS: copies and extracts relating to Chios in Italian from despatches, etc., in the Archivio di Stato and the Museo Civico Correr, both in Venice, in English from the Public Record Office, London, and in German from the Haus-, Hof- und Staats-Archiv, Vienna. The material was collected by Mr. Philip P. Argenti in Venice (1929-1930) and Vienna (1938) and used in his The Occupation of Chios by the Venetians (1694), 1935, Chius Vincta (1566), 1941 and The Diplomatic Archive of Chios 1577-1841, 1954. Some of the material published in these volumes is still in the present collection, but much has been removed after publication. Other materials relating to Chios, also collected by Mr. Argenti from the archives of the Propaganda, 1533-1805, are in Add. MSS. 54335-54336, 57319. Paper. Eleven folio volumes. 1929-1938.
