The contents include notes and tables relating to the apportionment of taxation amongst the hundreds of co. Denbigh (ff. 5, 44b-48), the parishes and manors of Bromfield Hundred, co. Denbigh (ff. 5-16, 49-52b, 58b-59, together with bridge assessments at ff. 17-25b), the manors of Yale Hundred, co. Denbigh (ff. 49-52b, 58b-59b), and the townships of Bromfield Hundred's constituent parishes of Wrexham (ff. 26 - 29), Ruabon (ff. 29b-35b, 40b, 44, 50, 60-63), Gresford (f. 36), Bangor-on-Dee (f. 36b), and Holt (f. 37). For the boundaries of all these townships see A. N. Palmer and E. Owen, A History of Ancient Tenures of Land in North Wales and the Marches, 2nd ed., Frome, 1910, map opposite p. 248. MS. 83 in the Wynnstay Papers at the National Library of Wales contains similar notes of apportionment compiled by Ellis Lloyd (see E. Rogers, 'The Allocation of Charges and County Rates within Denbighshire in the late Seventeenth Century', Denbighshire Historical Society Transactions, i, 1952, pp. 46-47).
