Papers of and relating to Florence Nightingale, O.M. 1907, supplementary to the Florence Nightingale Papers now in the Department, viz. Add. MSS. 43393 - 43403, 45750 - 45849 and 47714 - 47767. Arranged as follows:-
(1) Correspondence of Florence Nightingale with Julius Mohl, the orientalist, and his wife Mary née Clarke; 1867-1873: preceded (ff. 1- 4) by two typewritten copies of a letter, 3 July 1846, to Mary Mohl from Florence Nightingale's sister Frances Parthenope (wife, 1858, of Sir Harry Verney, 2nd Bart.) and followed (f. 22) by a memorandum, Feb. 1947, by Mrs Rosalind Frances Mary Shore Nash relating to the destruction (in 1946) of most of the Mohl correspondence. ff. 5-20b.
(2) Letters from Florence Nightingale to Rosalind Frances Mary Shore Smith, wife (1892) of Vaughan Nash; 1879-1892: preceded (f. 23) by a letter, 24 July 1866, from Florence Nightingale to Samuel Shore Smith afterwards (1893) Nightingale, and including (f. 30b) a letter, 22 May 1888, from him to his sister Rosalind. ff. 24 - 42.
