A selection from the correspondence and papers of John Alfred Spender, C.H. (b. 1862, d. 1942) who for many years was the Editor of the 'Westminster Gazette'. These papers were used by Spender himself, chiefly in his Life, Journalism and Politics (1927) and his Fifty Years of Europe (1933), and for his biographies of Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman (1923) and Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith (1932): they were also used extensively by Henry Wilson Harris, M.P., in his J. A. Spender (1946). Nine volumes. Folio (unless otherwise stated). Classified as follows:-
