(2) Legal papers, chiefly relating to Baron Hill, viz.:- (a) Notes of the speech by Bulstrode Whitelocke, Commissioner of the Great Seal, at the swearing-in of John Wilde as Chief Baron of Exchequer, 15 Nov. 1648 (differing considerably in detail from the version printed in Whitelocke's Memorials, 1682, pp. 344-346), and of Wilde's reply. ff. 52- 57b;- (b) Accompt-books of judges' expenses on assizes; 1655- 1658. ff. 58-89b;- (c) Judgements at Hertford Gaol Delivery; 13 March 165 ⁶/₇ff. 90-91b.
