Letters addressed to Madeleine De Wolff, Lady Austin-Lee formerly Lee, wife of Sir Henry Austin Lee, K.C.M.G., Counsellor of the Embassy at Paris, and her diaries written chiefly during the war years; 1911-1938. For references to Lady Austin-Lee at the period see John Ayscough's Letters to his Mother 1914-1916, ed. F. Bickerstaffe-Drew (1919). Several letters from Francis Browning Drew Bickerstaffe-Drew, R.C. army chaplain ('John Ayscough', the novelist) are included in the present collection. Names of writers of letters are given in the Index to the present Catalogue. Twelve volumes. Various sizes. Presented by Mrs De Wolff Rollins.
