LETTERS TO THE REV. THOMAS HARTWELL HORNE, of the British Museum, bibliographer and biblical scholar (b. 1780, d. 1862), from peers, Anglican bishops and clergy, scholars (mostly biblical), authors, and historians, together with a few letters, etc., to his son-in-law and daughter, the Rev. and Mrs Thomas Kelly Cheyne, and a single letter of Horne's; 1822-1871, n.d. Album (46844 A) and supplementary letters (46844 B) arranged chronologically. One letter of the Marquis de La Fayette, 15 May 1825, and two from former Presidents of the U.S.A., Thomas Jefferson, 11 Aug. 1824, and John Quincy Adams, 9 Nov. 1840 (46844 A, ff. 35, 38, 40) were sent to Horne by Dr James Mease of Philadelphia in 1841 (f. 33).
