The letters are chiefly on musical subjects and include (ff. 6-8, 39, 40) information from librarians on manuscripts of the works of John Hothby, on whom Hughes-Hughes wrote an article for the second edition of Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians, ii, 1906.
