CORRESPONDENCE AND FAMILY PAPERS OF JOHN LEE, F.R.S., F.S.A., of Hartwell House, co. Bucks., collector of antiquities and scientist; 1799-1865. Lee was born Fiott in 1783, and changed his name by royal licence in 1815 under the terms of the will of his maternal uncle, William Lee Antonie. He inherited the Lee family seat at Hartwell in 1827 on the death of a cousin, the Rev. Sir George Lee, 6th Bart. For further details about the Lee family see W. H. Smyth, Aedes Hartwellianae, 1851, pp. 59-101. Formerly numbered MS. 242 by the British Records Association. Eight volumes. Paper. Folio and (47493 A-D) octavo.
