Letters (with some enclosures) from Major-General Charles George Gordon and members of his family to the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society, chiefly addressed to Charles Harris Allen, Secretary (1879), together with a few replies from Allen; 1874-1884. Used by Dr B. M. Allen for his Gordon and the Sudan, 1931. Correspondence of Gordon with the Society, including extracts from the present papers, is printed in The Anti-Slavery Reporter, ser. 3, vol. xix, April 1874, et seq. Copies of C. H. Allen's letters are in the letter-books of the Society, 1874- 1884, Rhodes House, Oxford, S.20 E.3/3, E. 3/4. See also the Minute Books of the Society, 1873-1886, Rhodes House, S.20 E.2/10.
