Raimond Feraud, 'La Vida de Sant Honorat (Life of Saint Honorat), an adaptation in Provençal verse of the Latin, Vita Sancti Honorati. The text is imperfect, beginning with the rubric, ‘Ayssi comensa la vida el romans de n[ost]ro senh[or] S[ant] Honorat de Lerins’. There are lacunae in the text and it ends at ‘Denfra lo monestier e desus vay bastir’, line 8327 (see Ricketts Vida Sant Honorat (2007), pp. 29, 637). In the lower margin is the catchword, ‘L’abas’ but the remaining folios are lacking.
Saint Honorat (b. c. 375, d. 430), also known as Honorat of Lérins, was founder of the Abbey of Lérins (c. 400-410) and Archbishop of Arles (428-430). The author, Raimon Feraud, was prior of the Abbey of Roquestéron in c. 1300. He dedicated this work to Marie of Hungary, wife of Charles II of Anjou. It survives in 9 manuscripts and 1 fragment.
