The present copy, in the hand of William Cummine, was written at Edinburgh and bears the signatures of more than a thousand persons, including the Earls of Montrose, Rothes, Lothian, Wemyss, Dalhousie, and Eglinton, Barons Loudoun, Fleming, Balmerino, and Melville, James Stewart, Provost of Glasgow, H(enry?) Montgomerie, of Giffen, and Andrew Cant, Minister of Pitsligo. For a list of the whereabouts of other copies of the National Covenant, see J. K.
