They consist chiefly of extracts from the principal law-writers citing cases bearing on certain legal terms. Two volumes, with an index of the terms involved at the end of each volume. Begun in a 17th cent. hand, the volumes were augmented in the early 18th cent. by Francis Cudworth Masham, Master in Chancery (d. 1731), to whom they presumably belonged. He was the son of Sir Francis Masham, 3rd Bart., by Damaris, daughter of Dr. Ralph Cudworth. It is possible that these MSS. were acquired at the same time as 4978-4987. Paper; ff. 175, 163. Folio.
