The bulk of the collection comprises the papers of Adolphus, 1st Duke of Cambridge, and his son, George, the 2nd Duke. Also included are papers of Augusta, Duchess of Cambridge, wife of the 1st Duke, Mary, Duchess of Gloucester, the 1st Duke’s sister, two of the 2nd Duke’s sons, and one of his grand-daughters. Purchased by private treaty through Christie’s in March 2005.
