- Custodial History:
-
Traces of red seal impression, presumably of Antonios Triphillis (centre, upper edge of f. 5v). Inscribed 'ξαγουπτούτιο 1739 ἐτοῦτο τὸ βιβλίο καταγορασμένο ὑπὸ τὸ ἐπισκο φιλο νούμερον 21' (f. 5v); a similar inscription, in the same hand, can be found in CUL Add. 2603, which also has the seal impression. The CUL inscription is dated 18 July 1739 and says that the MS was from the monastery of Dionysiou on Mount Athos. Belonged to the physician, classical scholar and collector, Anthony Askew (1722-1774). Perhaps the present MS can be identified with lot 621 in Askew's sale catalogue, which was said to be 'ex Monte Athos'.
