Dimensions: 315 x 215mm.
Ruling: 230 x 135mm, 30 lines to a page.
Scribal features: Title of table and each book in rubricated capitals.
Binding: Full calf leather binding (gilt-lined yellow morocco), late 18th century binding.
Scribes: Copied in Rome by Christopher Auer (Repertorium 1A, no. 381) for Cardinal Georges d'Armagnac, 27 February 1546. Rubric colophon, f 437: Ἀναλώματι καὶ δαψιλείᾳ τοῦ εὐσεβεστάτου καὶ λαμπροτάτου Γεωργίου τοῦ Ἀρμενιακοῦ Καρδινάλεος, χειρὶ δὲ Xριστοφόρου τοῦ Ἀουέρου Γερμανοῦ ἡ τουδὶ τοῦ συγγράμματος μεταγραφὴ σὺν Θεῷ ἔλαβεν ἐκ πολλοῦ χρόνου προσδοκώμενον τέλος ἐν Ῥώμῃ τῇ προτεραίᾳ τοῦ ἐσχάτου ἐλαφηβολιῶνος, ἤγουν τοῦ Ῥωμαίοις καλουμένου φεβρουαρίου, ἔτει χιλιοστῷ πεντακοσιοστῷ τεσσαρακοστῷ ἕκτῳ.

Custodial History:

Probably Ms. H 11 in the 1561 catalogue of the library of Georges d'Armagnac (see Samaran and Concasty). Armorial bookplate of the Hon. Frederic North, later 5th Earl of Guilford, inscribed in pencil '516'. '830' and 'u.a.L/1/E' in pencil at top of first flyleaf (f i). At top of f ii, written in contemporary pencil: 'This is the only copy that ever was permitted to be taken of the Scarce original witness in the Vatican Library'.
