Scribal features: Partly autograph.
Binding: Late 18th-century binding of half brown leather with pasteboard covers.
Scribes: The whole manuscript is described in a table of contents (f 1v) in the hand of Nikolaos Karatzas (fl. 1730-1784), logothete of the Patriarch of Constantinople, who identifies the text of ff 49-90v as an autograph of Ioannes Karyophilles and the note on ff 92-93 as in the hand of his son, Ralakes Karyophilles. Written mainly by eight Greek hands: (1) ff 2-47v; (2) ff 49-88v, Ioannes Karyophilles; (3) ff 92-93, Ralakes Karyophilles; (4) ff 94-101v; (5) ff 102-107, 149v; (6) ff 108-136; (7) ff 137-143v, 16th century; (8) ff 144-148v.

Custodial History:

Owned by Nikolaos Karatzas, who also supplied the title on f 1 Ex-libris in Greek of the hieromonk Dionysios (f 2): On the top: ἐκ τῶν τοῦ διονυσίου ἱερομονάχου. Armorial bookplate of the Hon. Frederic North, later 5th Earl of Guilford, inscribed in ink 'No 420' (listed as such in the catalogue of Guilford's Greek books, Add MS 16572, f 46). '420' in pencil (f 1). '524' and 'u.a.L./10/A' in pencil at top of first flyleaf '550' in pencil (front pastedown).
