- Foliation: ff ii + 71. Old pagination in ink '1-64’ (ff 14-45v)..
- Dimensions: 165 x 115mm.
- Binding: Half goat leather biding, 20th century. Late 18th-century binding of blind-tooled brown diced calf kept separately.
- Scribes: ff 1-12r, 46-70v: Nikolaos Karatzas (fl. 1730-1784), logothete of the Patriarch of Constantinople. Karatzas copied Prokopios’s texts from an unedited autograph, as noted on the top of f 2v: ἐξ ἰδιοχείρου ἀποσημειώσεως τοῦ αὐτοῦ. ff 13-45v: a certain Constantinos signed at the end of f 45v.
- Custodial History:
- Ex-libris of Metrophanes of Nyssa (f 16), many of whose books are now at the Monastery of Dionysiou, Mount Athos. Owned by Nikolaos Karatzas. Armorial stamp and bookplate of the Hon. Frederic North, later 5th Earl of Guilford, the latter inscribed in ink 'No 318’ (listed as such in the catalogue of Guilford’s Greek books, Add MS 16572, f 35). '550’ in pencil on bookplate. '390’ and 'u.a.L./10/A’ in pencil on verso of first flyleaf, now kept with former binding.
