In addition, two alphabets, on f 1r and ff 119r-120r, added by Ruskin, and a list of the "names of Companions accepted, forming St. George's Company, March 1876" (f 147r).

Foliation: ff ii + 156. ff 1, 74, 75, 77, 78, 119, 120, 123, 124, 147, 156 are inserted parchment leaves. ff i and ii are the pastedowns on the inside front and back covers, respectively.
Dimensions: 315 x 255 mm.
Ruling: 210 x 165 mm, 21 lines per page, Leroy 34C2.
Binding: 19th-century red morocco with gold and other tooling.
Decoration: Small headpieces in gold. Large initials in colours and gold in decorated forms. Initials in gold over red. Accents in red. Writing in gold. Excised headpiece (f 2r, the offset on f 155v).

Provenance:
Bernard Alexander Christian Quaritch (b. 1819, d.1899), bookseller and publisher: probably Quaritch's catalogue 279, August 1871, no. 22; bought by Ruskin.
John Ruskin (b. 1819, d. 1900), art critic and social critic: his extensive notes on most folios, including the inscription 'Brantwood. 2nd Aug. 1873' (f 80r) and 'Finished. 11th May . 1875 . . and reviewed for list of chapters , 9th June 1875' (f 155v); his bookplate 'Ex Libris John Ruskin Brantwood' (f i recto); inscription 'Names of the Companions accepted, forming St George's Company, March 1876' (f 147r); his sale, Sotheby's, 24 July 1930, lot 23. Probably listed as II. 6 in his catalogue of 1894 (Cat. D, cf. Dearden 2012, p. 133).
