Material: Parchment.

Foliation: ff (iv) + 67 + (v).

Dimensions: 290 x 215 mm.

Ruling: 185 x 105 mm, 30 lines per page, Leroy 65D1dpq.

Binding: British Museum, 1967, blue leather. The earlier binding (18th century?) is of stamped brown leather on beech boards covered with badly worn green velvet with impressions of corner-pieces and bosses. This binding appears to have been made for a larger manuscript, and is now kept separately under Egerton MS 3145/1.

Decoration: Headpieces in colours and gold, with foliate forms, and large initials in colours and gold, at the beginning of books (ff 1r, 7r, 11r, 15r, 18v, 20v, 33r, 37v, 41r, 43r, 44r, 66v) . Small initials in red and gold. Simple endpieces. Chrysography.

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean, Constantinople.

Purchased in Janina in 1864 by the Rev. Reginald Barnes for Angela Georgina, Baroness Burdett-Coutts.

Presented by Burdett-Coutts to Sir Roger Cholmely's School, Highgate (Burdett-Coutts MS. II.4).

Purchased by the British Museum with the aid of the Egerton Fund from the Governors of Highgate School, 8 October 1938.
