Material: Paper (w.m. cf. Harlfinger Corne 11). ff.8-9 are later insertions: the watermark on f 8 shows part of a hand surmounted by a star, resembling Briquet 10755 (Syracuse, 1529).
Foliation: ff ii + 114 ( + 3 unfoliated modern paper flyleaves at the beginning and 4 at the end). ff i and ii are the old covers.
Dimensions: 205 x 145 mm.
Ruling: 145 x 85 mm. 24 lines (ff16-114).
Binding: BM/BL in-house. Rebound in 1968 (former contemporary binding of wooden boards and tooled leather, with metal bosses on each side kept separately as Egerton MS 3157/1, foliated as ff i, ii.)
Decoration: 33 drawings in ink and watercolours (ff 1v, 5r, 7r, 19v, 22r, 27r, 29r, 31v, 36r, 39r, 40v, 43v, 45v, 48r, 53r, 59v, 65r, 67v, 73r, 75r, 79r, 84v, 87v, 89v, 99v, 101v, 104v, 105v, 106r, 108r, 109r, 111v, 113r). Headpieces in brown and red, some with braided decoration. Headpiece and large decorated initial in watercolours (f 96r). Simple endpieces in red or brown. Initials in red, some with penwork decoration. Rubrics in red.

ff 8-9 are later insertions: the watermark on f 8 shows part of a hand surmounted by a star, resembling Briquet 10755 (Syracuse, 1529).
? Angela Georgina Burdett-Coutts, suo jure Baroness Burdett-Coutts (b. 1814, d. 1906), philanthropist: probably her manuscript number 'II:6' in pen on a paper label affixed to the inside front cover (f i recto).
