WILL of Edward Lyne of Bristol, Doctor of Physic; 8 Feb. 1769, with codicils of 6 Aug. 1771 and 23 May and 1 Oct. 1772. In addition to a detailed account of his property, pictures, etc., Lyne mentions a recent survey of lands at Keynsham, co. Som., by Walter Dutton (fl. 17[40?]- circa 1785) [F. Steer, Dictionary of land surveyors and local map-makers of Great Britain and Ireland, 2nd ed., 1997, D377] and a survey and map of estates at Weston [-in-Gordano?] and Whitchurch, co. Som., prepared by William Ford [not listed as such in Steer, op. cit., but possibly William Foord of Caldicot fl. 1767-1771, Steer, op. cit., F137?] for Israel Gleson shortly before 1762. Probate copy [probate granted 29 April 1773]. Purchased from J. L. M. Gulley, June 1999.
