MISCELLANEOUS CHARTERS, relating mostly to co. Norf.; 12th-17th cent. Bequeathed, with Add. MSS. 63079-63141, by T. S. Blakeney, Dec. 1976. As with the main group of manuscripts in the Blakeney collection, a significant portion of these charters once belonged to the archive of the Townshend family of Raynham, co. Norf., and include papers of members of the Bacon and Townshend families; see further the description of Add. MSS. 63079-63082.

Arranged and mounted by Blakeney in two volumes containing Add. Ch. 76153-76286 and Add. Ch. 76287-76383 respectively. The volumes were numbered by Blakeney as TSB 20, parts 1 and 2. A draft calendar by Blakeney is inserted at the beginning of each volume. The charters are therefore here described in summary form only; all places are co. Norf., unless otherwise stated.
