Material: Paper.
Foliation: ff v + 54. f i is the paste-down on the inside upper board. In addition, nine unfoliated contemporary paper leaves at the end of the manuscript.
Dimensions: 295 x 90 mm.
Ruling: 90 x 125 mm.
Binding: Contemporary binding of morocco, re-backed, with tooled panel and central lozenge.
Decoration: Flourished capitals in red, and bands of scroll-work at the top of ff 2r, and 4r. Full-page illumination in gold and colours of Emperor Leopold I, f 3v, and similar drawing of the captured banner, f 50r.
Scribe: Written by the priest Nicolas at Bucharest in December 1686: colophon, f 54v: ἐτελειώθη εἰς μπουκουρεστίῳ 1686 δεκεμβ. παρὰ Νικολάου Ἱερέως.

Written by the priest Nicolas at Bucharest in December 1686: colophon, f 54v: ἐτελειώθη εἰς μπουκουρεστίῳ 1686 δεκεμβ. παρὰ Νικολάου Ἱερέως.
Translated and written at the request of Constantin Brâncoveanu (b. 1654, d. 1714), later Prince of Wallachia: ownership inscription, f 1r: "Alu Konstandin Brankovénu V[oda] Spa[tar], Skoasa de Jeremija Kakavela dasculu[l] şi egume[nul] Plavicénilo[r] dupe limba francésca pe limba grecésca şi scrisa de popa nekula: l[un]a noe[mvrie] a[nu]l αχπζ" [November 1687].
Dedicated to John Șerban Cantacuzene (b. 1640, d. 1688), Prince of Wallachia and uncle of Brâncoveanu.
Hon. Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford (b. 1766, d. 1827), colonial governor and philhellene: his arms on bookplate, ff i recto, ii verso, and stencilled f iv recto; mentioned in his manuscript catalogue, Add MS 8220, f 74r, no. 16.
