Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff 246. Two unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and two at the end.
Dimensions: 205 x 125 mm.
Ruling: 140 x 65mm, 24 lines per page.
Binding: Post-1600. Red leather with gold tooling; marbled endpapers; gilt edges.
Scribe: Δημήτριος Δαμιλᾶς, Repertorium 1A, no. 93.
Artist: Attibuted to Gherardo di Giovanni and Monte del Fora (see Garzelli 1985).
Decoration: Full border in colours and gold, with flowers, green parrots, putti, medallions, cameos, and heraldic arms in the lower border (f 1r). Headpiece in gold, red, and blue, with braided decoration (f 1r). Large historiated initial in colours and gold (f 1r). 18 large initials in colours and gold with interlace or foliate decoration (ff 7r, 13v, 21r, 30r, 42v, 50r, 65v, 80v, 86r, 92r, 98r, 107r, 115v, 125r, 132r, 140v, 148r, 169r). Writing in gold (f 1r). Initials in red with penwork decoration. Simple headpieces in red. Text and apparatus in red.

Provenance:
Alexander Farnese (b. 1468, d. 1549), from 1534 Pope Paul III: Farnese arms (f. 1). Made for him after 1490, according to Pernot 1981 p. 696.
Vincenzo Maria Carafa (b. 1739, d. 1814), 7th Prince of Roccella and Duke of Bruzzano: his book-plate 'Ex Libris Vinc. M. Kar.ca.st. pr. Amphiss.' with arms, and the inscription in pen 'G. Cataneo inc.' (inside upper cover).
William Pickering (b. 1796, d. 1854): immediate source of acquisition.
