Digital copies of a small sample of the photographs held by the Georgia Central State Audio-Visual Archive. The copies were created as part of the project EAP057, which surveyed the works of nine photographers held by the Archive.
The sample photographs included here date from the late 19th to mid-20th century and document a range of subjects including Georgian poets, royalty and military; architecture and historical monuments; artwork; agricultural and industrial techniques, and ethnographic research.

- Appraisal:
- The EAP057 project surveyed the works of nine photographers, identified because of their importance to the development of photogrpahy in Georgia: an estimated 90,000 photographs split over a number of collections and photo albums. A sample of these photographs were digitised as part of the project, selected because they documented cultural, economic, technological and social developments.
- Arrangement:
- The photographic collections at the Georgia Central State Audio-Visual Archives are broadly divided into collections by photographer, and kept within photo albums, with each album assigned a reference number. However, some collections can contain the work of more than one photographer. As the EAP057 project only digitised samples, the EAP cataloguer has grouped material into artificial files for each of the photographers. The original album-photograph reference is noted in the original materials field. For example: 241-15, album #241, photograph 15.
