These papers are composed of two files as follows:
- D 922/1 (which is itself divided into two physical volumes): an account of a journey in Kashmir in 1898-99 written by Lt (later Lt-Col) David Lockhart Robertson Lorimer of the Indian Army (folios 1-262). Copies of letters sent by the linguist, political analyst and author, Emily Overend Lorimer, to her parents that describe the lives of her and her husband David, in Bahrain and Kerman. David served as Political Agent in Bahrain 1911-12 and as H.M. Consul, Kerman and Persian Baluchistan, 1913-14. (folios 263-634)
- D 922/2: a letter sent from Emily Overend Lorimer to her parents that describes the overland journey from Bandar Abbas to Kerman that her and her husband, David Lockhart Robertson Lorimer, made from December 1912 to January 1913 (folios 635-668).
