This collection of papers consists of two files.
The first file (MSS EUR B228/1) contains sixteen letters that were written to Sir Thomas Perrott from Colonel Sir (Arthur) Henry McMahon while he was on service in a number of different locations in British India, primarily in the North West (present-day Pakistan). The letters discuss McMahon's work and family life and give brief impressions of the regions in which he was stationed.
The second file (MSS EUR B228/2) contains an account of the history of Bahrain that was written by Brigadier-General Sir Terence Humphrey Keyes while he was serving as Political Agent in the country. The account contains details of Bahrain's recent history and its current status with an emphasis on its pearl diving industry. The file also contains two letters from Keyes that are addressed to Gertrude Perrott, the wife of Thomas Perrott.
