This is a composite volume including:
Diary, dated 5 Apr-11 Aug 1800, of a stay at Mocha (possibly by the surgeon of H.M.S. `Leopard'), containing details of Arab customs including sex and marriage. Was J787.
Drawing of the monumental obelisk at Patna. Was K18.
`Remarks concerning the Tides', supposed to be by Capt Joseph Cotton (1745-1825), Royal Navy 1760, East India Company maritime service 1768-82, East India Company Director 1795- 1823. Was K111.
`Description of a Harbour or Bay behind the Island Penang in the northern mouth of the Straits of Malacca': copies of letters from Capt James Scott describing the Bay. Was K117.
Copies of official papers recording events leading to the embassy of Capt (later Lt-Col) Michael Symes (c1753-1809), British Army 1787-1809, to Burma in 1795, of which he published an account entitled `An account of an Embassy to the Kingdom of Ava' (London 1800). Was K133.
