Typescript transcript of an unpublished account of the mental hospital in Lahore in the 1920s and 1930s entitled 'Birth of a Hospital' by Capt (later Lt-Col) Charles James Lodge Patch (b1887), Indian Medical Service, Medical Superintendent Punjab Mental Hospital Lahore 1922-39; three printed articles by him entitled 'Microcephaly: A Report on Shah Daulah's Mice', (1928), 'A Critical Review of the Punjab Mental Hospitals from 1840-1930', (1931) and 'A Century of Psychiatry in the Punjab', (1939); photographs of the hospital and some microcephalics, with an accompanying letter to his daughter Jean (1939). [See also 'A Manual of Mental Diseases. A textbook for students and practitioners in India' 1934]: also memoirs entitled "Recollections of a Chartfield Child in the 1930s" by his daughter Mrs. Jean Hewitt.
