Eighty letters from the poet, Rupert Brooke to the actress, Cathleen Nesbitt. In the letters Brooke writes about his literary projects and his estimation of himself as a writer and a man, whilst also giving his opinions on Cathleen Nesbitt's stage career. A number of the letters were sent when Brooke was abroad in America, Canada, Tahiti and Fuji. The majority of the letters are undated. Three poems are included.
A letter from Captain Denis Browne, Brooke's friend who was serving with him, which was sent after the poet's death on Skyros is also included. Leaves from the olive tree under which Brooke was buried were enclosed with the Captain's letter (f.197).
