Custodial History:: The papers, originally in R. B. McKerrow's custody, came into the possession of Frank Francis sometime between the death of McKerrow in 1940 and that of his wife, Amy, in 1946; Francis and McKerrow had been Joint Honorary Secretaries of the Bibliographical Society from 1938-1940. The earlier papers, and those relating to A. W. Pollard, presumably came to McKerrow through the same Bibliographical Society connection; Pollard had himself been an earlier Hon. Sec. (from 1893-1934).
