f.2r: title page and reading instructions: Inilah suatu dalil menyatakan kias ini lātfa‘ al-khayr sarmaji, jangan lewat bagi jahat ta’ ratang[?]. Inilah Hikayat Puteri Bakawali dan Hikayat Galila Damina dua cetera ini dicampur jadikan satu di dalam buku ini. Asks listeners and readers to correct deficiencies in the text, and asks for special care in the selection of the reciter, and vents his anger on those who do not show appreciation of the work of the writer: adapun seperti orang yang membaca hikayat ini cahari daripada orang yang beriman dan kesempurnaan akal dan lapang hematannya janganlah dicahari syaitan iblis alaihi al-laknat Allah kebanyakkan kita meminjam surat orang belum belas terima kasih dinistakan dahulu kepada orang yang empunya surat ini tiadalah patut sekali2 yang demikian itu bukan daripada insan inilah hamba beri ingatku kepada sanak saudara anak cucu.
