In Malay in Jawi script. Syair Makrifat and Syair Dagang, two syair (narrative poems), both concerning the need to eschew wordly goods and instead look towards the afterlife.
ff. 1v-24r: Syair Makrifat, concluding with a colophon (written in bold) giving the name of the scribe as Encik Umar and the time of writing as the eve of Friday (i.e. Thursday).
Text begins (f.1v): Bismillah itu permulaan hakiki / dengan nama Allah tuhan yang maha tinggi / ialah tuhan yang menjugai / segala hambanya yang berbahagi
Text ends (ff.23v-24r): Alhamdulillah tamatlah surat / kalam tercecah dawat lekat / diberi Allah apalah ibarat / bertambah iman orang menyurat // Tamat surat petang Jumaat / kalam tercecah dawat pun lekat / nabi menolong[?] kepada umat / dalam hati gempar[?] kiamat // Surat ini Encik Umar yang empunya / sekalian orang boleh meminjamnya / baik-baik sedikit menaruhnya / jangan diberi bercerai akan jaitannya[?]
ff. 24r-28r: Syair Dagang, attributing the composition to a man of Melaka.
