Title on back of scroll: Bōsai sensei gasan 鵬斎先生画賛. A 7-character 4-line Chinese poem in cursive calligraphy by the scholar-painter Kameda Bōsai 亀田鵬斎 (1752-1826). Colour drawing by Bōsai in abbreviated Bunjin style beneath the poem shows figures playing go.
