Ōtomo no Yakamochi 大伴家持

Portrait of the poet Ōtomo no Yakamochi (716-785) accompanied by two of his waka poems. One of the Thirty-Six Immortals of Poetry from the Heisei-ban Satake-bon Sanjūrokkasen 平成版佐竹本三十六歌仙 inspired by the 13th century manuscript formerly in the possession of the Satake family.
Poem 1: Sao shika no asa tatsu ono no akihagi ni tama to miru made okeru shiratsuyu otome (Man'yōshū VIII 1602). Poem 2: Haru no sono kurenai niou momo no hana shitateru michi ni idetatsu otome (Man'yōshū XIX 4139).
