Saigū no Nyōgo 斎宮女御

Portrait of the poetess Saigū no Nyōgo (929-985) accompanied by three of her waka poems. One of the Thirty-Six Immortals of Poetry from the Heisei-ban Satake-bon Sanjūrokkasen 平成版佐竹本三十六歌仙 inspired by the 13th century manuscript formerly in the possession of the Satake family.
Poem 1: Koto no ne ni mine no matsukaze kayofurashi izure no o yori shirabesomekemu (Shūishū VIII 451).
Poem 2: Ame fureba Mikasa no yama mo aru mono o madaki ni sawagu kumo no ue kana (Saigū no Nyōgo-shū 3).
Poem 3: Hisakata no sora sae chikaki okuyama ni tsuki to tomo ni mo irinikeru kana (Gyokuyōshū 2504).
