This collection (1861-1971) consists of 110 handwritten paper documents, 109 palm-leaf manuscripts and 1 notebook. It contains court documents (such as petition, summon, judgement etc.), land deeds (such as sale, lease and loan dealings such as buying and lending of land by perikaruppatteevar and others of ponhnhamangkalam village in Thirumangalam Taluk of Madurai District). It also contains documents concerning the details of financial transactions, of land tax and other receipts for cash issued towards payments made by the villagers of ponhnhamangkalam.

The documents were not given any order by the document holder except for a separation according to format (notebook, palm-leaf and paper) which we have followed.
