All scores are written in pencil with lead, blue and red pencil annotations and markings throughout, and are all clearly organised by music cue numbers. Several annotations in all scores appear to refer to scene descriptions or details. The front cover of each manuscript displays details relating to the orchestration of each score.
Contents:
1) Any Man’s Kingdom (1956), directed by Tony Thompson with music conducted by Muir Mathieson. The front cover displays the previous working title of the film, ‘Northumberland’, and annotations that read ‘Recording Beaconsfield – April 1’, and ‘1954-55’. Creation date: 1954-1955. ff. 1-39.
2) The Travel Game (1958), directed by Tony Thompson. The front cover displays an annotation that reads ‘Marcus Dods – Recording Beaconsfield April 3’. Creation date: c.1958. ff. 40-76.
3) Off the Beaten Track (1960), directed by Syd Sharples. The front cover displays an annotation that reads ‘Marcus Dods – Recording Nov 18. Beaconsfield’. Creation date: c.1960. ff. 77-106.
